Obsessions

Just a few of the things that the llama collects, some day I'll upload my Warmachine army after I get my Cryx painted.

Virtuality

Grr... so I just watched Ron Moore's new sorta TV-show premiere, sorta TV-movie Virtuality. If you live in the US you should too.

I'm angry and a little bit hurt, not because it's bad. No, quite to the contrary it has all the makings of what could be a great show, mystery, drama, intrigue. Chances are, it never will become one. I'm angry because it only got a handful of viewers last Friday, potentially ruining the slim chance it had of becoming a continued series. However getting shoved into the Friday night death slot, in the summer in the same week as a major movie release, I'm not sure how many viewers they could have been realistically expecting.

Words of wisdom to any aspiring young writers or directors: If you've got some sort of brilliant idea for something fresh or smart, don't go to Fox. Seriously, the corpses of Firefly, Arrested Development, Futurama and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are still rotting on their front porch.

I desperately want this to get picked up. Maybe this will receive the same grace that Dollhouse did?

Blast from the 31st century past.

Man... when someone fails us, leave it up to the fans to salvage something from it.

Let no mistake be made, when I was an 11 year-old llama, there was nothing more awesome than Mechwarrior 2. I played the hell out of that game, and the series has always been dear to my heart. Even though in recent years it's veered more towards straight up action instead of simulation. Despite that, I still love to play Mechassault: Phantom War on my DS despite its flaws.

There has been nothing on the horizon for any Battletech/Mechwarrior/Mechassault fans in a long time. Seems like Mechassault 2 is going to be the last game in the series for the near future.

Here's hoping it gets to see the light of day.

The most wonderful time of the year.

That's right ladies and llamas, it's E3 again, and I'd love to pull your attention towards a part of the festivities that gets passed over for the more flashy announcements.

Yes my beloved ungulates, it is Into the Pixel a very often overlooked concept art contest that happens every E3, and has provided me with a few years worth of background images.

Also, I'm loving this Assassin's Creed 2 trailer, here's hoping Ubisoft learned from their previous mistakes. I hope some of what we see of combat in here is actually possible in the game. I for one am looking forward to my wristgun.

Also this trailer for The Old Republic makes me wish the game it wasn't representing an MMO. So much awesome action for a game that's just going to be you standing near an enemy, whirling your blades as MISS flashes over their heads. No way we're going to have such awesome acrobatic combat. Definitely no way we'll be able to crash a ship into a Jedi temple. Oh well, Bioware's making it, so it'll still be awesome.

However, I think this marks a first for MMO cinematics, this one actually shows the bad guys winning a fight.

Also, am I the only one who loves the look and art direction of the KotOR games more than the actual movies? I mean seriously, check out that ship. Check out those uniforms and that guy with only half a face. Lucas never gave us anything that awesome... not for the last 15 years, at least.

Also there's Left 4 Dead 2 coming out, less than a year after its predecessor. I thought the move was more than a little bit EAish. Until I read this fine article on Rock Paper Shotgun. Full AI director overhaul, new weapons, new special infected, new gore and physics effects. Yes please.

But you're speaking gibberish.

Graaagh!

Like a zombie clawing from its own grave, I return to blogging. Not with a shout of triumph or the sound of trumpets, but with a whisper.

A whisper that sounds a bit like "Braaaaaains..."

But yeah, here I am again. A bit tired of waiting for my dear friend Ran to return from Japan to fix his server. (However, once mystmakers is back up and running again, I have every intention of returning my blog back there.)

So yeah... what's happened to me in the last... 5 months?

Not much really. I'm rather ashamed at the utter lack of things that I have to report.

So, what's up with you guys?
